This morning I started my day well. It is a Monday morning, which means I have started my whole week well.
And there is such power in how we start things.
A good start sets us up for success.
This morning, I woke up to the sound of the rain thundering on the roof. My friend and I had made a plan last night to run this morning, but the rain was successfully demotivating both of us.
After a coffee and a bit of time to wake up, we bundled my 20month old daughter into the running pram anyway, despite the lack of motivation.
We set off running as dawn was breaking.
It was only a short run, but it was still a run.
20 minutes later, we all felt better for it.
So much better that we then found the inspiration to dip in the cold water tub in the garden.
It was less than half an hour, but it made a difference.
We finished the morning routine with a warm shower each then a good breakfast of pancakes, fruit, yoghurt and more coffee.
There is that famous cliche - "You regret the things you didn't do, more than the things you did."
